Rhythmic Rendezvous
Rhythmic Rendezvous is a modern swing band with strong ties to the jazz tradition.
The Berlin-based band seeks to escape the conventional gramophone sound and interprets pieces from the 1920s to the 1970s in a new way.
This begins with the instrumentation.
Consisting of a rousing melody section of saxophone/clarinet + trumpet and a powerful rhythm section with guitar, bass, and drums, you can hear influences from the small ensemble of Benny Goodman and Charlie Christian from the swing era, as well as bebop and straight-ahead music by Jim Hall and Sonny Rollins. They collaborate with Singers and other Instrumentalists from the Berlin Jazzscene.

current Band Members besides Chris are: Satchel Fisher - Trumpet studied jazz trumpet, piano, and arranging at Bard College (class of 2019). He moved to Berlin at the beginning of 2023 and since then has been playing both instruments in various groups in the city and around Germany. He mostly plays jazz but has worked with musicians in other genres as well, and lately has been collaborating with DJ duo Backyard Mix. Dani Sodrek - Doublebass is an Israeli Bass-Player and Composer. At the age of 18, being a promising talent in the Israeli jazz scene, he caught the attention of legendary Saxophonist Arnie Lawrence, who was living in Israel at the time and got him to play in his “Band of Angels”. In August 2016, Danny moved to Berlin to further explore the European jazz scene, and start his own ensemble playing his original compositions and arrangements. Shinichi Nakajima - Drums started playing jazz in a big band when he was a university student in physics. After the graduation, he learned music and drumming in Osaka and Tokyo, and started playing drums at Jazz clubs and music festivals in Tokyo and other cities in Japan. Since 2014, he moved to Berlin and continued his music career, mainly in jazz, funk, and latin music. Currently he regularly plays in Rhythmic Rendezvous (swing jazz), Juanita Laló & Friends (latin), Roby Edwards 4 (jazz), Sanra-boshi (free jazz), and other bands and sessions in Berlin and other cities.
Swing Shack Band
Potsdam musicians Thomas Kiesner (guitar), Christoph Schneider (bass), and Lilia Antico (vocals/snare) compile a program of their favorite songs and bring them to the stage in a danceable way. A great deal of love goes into the arrangements and improvisation, always with an eye on the dancers and the magic between dance and music. The wide range of their repertoire offers both soaring ballads for a relaxed atmosphere and energetic tracks that get your feet moving, as well as well-known melodies from other genres that will enthrall the listener's heart.
